FOUR SIGNALS

Four checks to make before interpreting today's numbers

Compare signals with different purposes at the same point in time instead of inferring direction from one metric.

Market cap describes the size of the market

A higher total market cap does not mean every asset rose together. Pair the 24-hour change with BTC and ETH shares to see whether value is broadening across the market or concentrating in large assets.

Dominance measures concentration

Rising BTC dominance means Bitcoin represents a larger relative share, not that its price must be rising. Dominance can increase when the whole market falls and altcoins fall faster.

Volume is evidence of participation intensity

Check whether price and volume expanded together. Providers and exchanges aggregate volume differently, and reported totals may include derivatives or questionable activity, so trends on one consistent basis are more useful than isolated totals.

Sentiment is supporting context, not a standalone signal

The Fear & Greed Index compresses market mood into one number. Extremes do not guarantee a reversal, so compare price, volume and multiple timeframes and ask whether the condition has persisted.
